Supporting babies & communities
Babies’ health and wellness are our top priority. That’s why we’ve helped to launch and partnered with a number of programs and non-profits that provide essentials needed to keep moms and babies healthy.
When a baby doesn’t have access to clean diapers, they’re exposed to potential health risks. It also makes it less likely the baby will be accepted by daycares, leaving parents unable to work. These are just a couple of reasons Huggies® helped found the National Diaper Bank Network in 2011. Since then, we’ve contributed more than 200 million diapers, and the network has grown to over 200 banks across the country, serving 200,000 children each month.
Huggies® is a primary sponsor for Hand to Hold®, a national nonprofit that provides personalized emotional support, education and community to parents before, during and after a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) stay. When babies need the specialized medical attention of a NICU, it can be traumatic to the parent and disruptive to traditional parent-baby bonding. Huggies® sponsorship helps to make essential assistance free for all NICU parents to help ensure a healthy beginning for the baby.
We’re dedicated to furthering women’s and newborns’ health research, education, and advocacy. To accomplish this, we actively partner with a nonprofit nurses association called Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Our work together has included educating parents on diapering principles and closing the diaper gap through the National Diaper Bank Network. But more recently, we’ve worked together to advocate for equity and respectful care of pregnant women of color. This includes the January 2022 sponsorship of a first-of-its-kind resource titled “Respectful Maternity Care Framework and Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline.” Huggies and AWHONN are proud supporters of federal legislation that seeks to address the systemic issues contributing to maternal and infant mortality.
